Creative Fuse – Meet the participants

Tees Valley Arts is a local charity that works with artists and communities across the Tees Valley region to bring about positive change. The charity joined the Creative Fuse Tees Valley Bounce Back Funding Programme to help it move out of a survival mode as a result of the pandemic.

Creative Fuse Tees Valley created the Programme to help creative businesses across the region, like Tees Valley Arts with harnessing financial resources and support following the impact of Covid-19.

This included four weekly masterclasses led by financial experts, Edale, along with individual mentoring sessions to equip SMEs and freelancers with the know-how on applying for funding and grants to get back on track.

As a result of the support, Tees Valley Arts was able to discover the diverse funding opportunities available in the region, and more importantly how to utilise them to strengthen its case for support, something that it needed imminently after moving to a new premises in which it was operating a public facing gallery and commercial space for the first time.

“The programme was very helpful to encounter different approaches to developing and explaining business models and equally valuable to be part of a cohort of similarly sized organisations who would share challenges and solutions.”

James Beighton, Executive Director, Tees Valley Arts
