CAKE 44: How was it for you? Evaluating the success of cultural events

Overview

Date: Thursday 25 November 2021
Time: 12:00 am - 12:00 am
Location: Online
Event type: Creative Fuse: CAKE

Join the Creative Fuse team on November 25th to evaluate the success of cultural events.

The discipline of art audience evaluation is awash with data, but what insight can be generated?

We all have different criteria for the success of what we do and how we want our organisations to evolve, but this can be at odds with what is required by funders. We have to spend a lot of time and effort collecting data and we want to ensure that it’s used for the right purposes by all stakeholders.

  • How well do we compare to other sectors for data collection?
  • How sophisticated are the methodologies for good quality data collection?
  • What analysis can this data drive for actionable insights?
  • And where are the true voices of audiences?

This CAKE will have speakers discussing approaches to evaluation in the arts and cultural sector from a range of perspectives exploring how evaluation is and could be used to create impact for artists, cultural organisations, audiences and society. Provocation breakout sessions will focus on the value, benefits and merits of evaluation for arts and culture. Tickets are free.
