Kick-starting our monthly success spotlight is the fantastic, Hodgson Fish – a family-run business that has been providing high quality fresh fish to restaurants, hotels and the public for over 100 years.
With an expanding client portfolio, over 70 employees and an excellent customer service reputation to maintain, Hodgson Fish looked to the DigitalCity initiative for support on digitising their business to improve overall business efficiency and profitability.
DigitalCity connected them with experts who completed a detailed review of all manual systems and suggested ways of automation using innovation and software could be adopted within their business. This included all costings and timings, providing total clarity on return on investment and the other associated benefits of digital automation.
From adopting the suggested phased transitionary digital strategy, Hodgson Fish has not only improved its business efficiencies and customer experience, but has greatly reduced costs, improved profitability and created new sales.
Owner, Alan Hodgson said the digital innovation project has benefited the business in many ways. He said “It has given our company Hodgson Fish a much greater understanding of the manual operations and provided us with valuable management information.”
“This has allowed us to grow our sales and profitability and improve our service to customers throughout the north of England.”
