Phavour is a brilliant example of a local SME that has pivoted quickly, strategically and successfully in response to the global pandemic.
Its digital platform is designed to match university students with the perfect paid task instantaneously. Described as ‘the ride hailing app for making students money’ the platform includes several work opportunities from simple one-off tasks like walking someone’s dog or cleaning someone’s car to gaining transferable skills to boost future employability with freelance work surrounding their field of study.
Founder, Lliam Casey is currently taking part in the DigitalCity SCALE Programme which has enabled him to connect with like-minded businesses and individuals in the area and explore financial avenues to fund the execution of his business plans. Lliam said “Even in these unprecedented times, SCALE has helped Phavour to achieve what it set out to do”.
Following the successful beta launch of the platform during the Summer, the team are currently working hard to improve the platform based on user feedback and have plans in place to officially launch in the first quarter of 2021. Lliam reveals there’s also some exciting international expansion plans on the horizon, watch this space!
