Talking Tees Tech Awards with My Marketing Button

The full list of finalists for the Tees Tech Awards 2021 has been revealed and it’s safe to say we certainly have a sector to be proud of! It’s incredible to see so many DigitalCity alumni being recognised for their talents and successes, even in the most challenging of circumstances.

We’ve had the pleasure of catching up with the wonderful Mags (Margaret Bradshaw), Managing Director of My Marketing Button on what it means to her and her business to be shortlisted for the Digital Transformation award.

First and foremost, we’d like to say a HUGE congratulations on being named finalists of the Tees Tech Awards!

Can you share a little more about My Marketing Button and your digital transformation journey?

My business was born from the idea of wanting to offer a clearer way of defining not only what marketing is but how it can be planned, by who and why. I felt there were many questions around the role of marketing and from my 30 years’ experience I was passionate about representing something different.

I wanted to offer one clear visual that showed a business how their marketing was performing. It was important to me to make it easy to see what was being achieved and then identify where the gaps were to enable businesses to plan ahead.

With my initial business being around consultancy and then training, it was a logical step to take the business into the world of technology and deliver an online solution that could be supportive, encouraging, motivational and lead a business through a solid and sustainable solution for marketing strategy and implementation.

What does it mean to the business to be shortlisted for an award?

“This is a real honour for us.”

This means the absolute world and I really mean that.  Having started out with a vision and been able to get to this stage with a product that is gaining traction and interest is amazing.  Having that recognised by being shortlisted in the Tees Tech Awards makes us feel so proud and a massive sense of accomplishment.  We are amongst such established and credible businesses – this is a real honour for us.

And what does it mean to you personally, as the Managing Director?

This has very personal meaning as the journey to get to this point has been very challenging.  Having literally started a business with a thought process and concept, I have felt every emotion during the journey.  Now having other people in the team, we are making great progress.  This has been quite a considerable move for me personally as it really registered how other people see the value in my initial vision and wanted to be a part of the button journey.  I feel humbled in a way that we have made a success from a passion to deliver new thinking.

Roll on the 1st July! What are you most looking forward to at the awards?

Apart from a cheeky glass of red wine!! I am so excited to just be out and part of an evening where businesses can re-connect in person and recognise the awesome tech talent in the region.

The awards are taking place on Tuesday 10 August at Hardwick Hall and will be live streamed online. Watch this space for more information.
